Meet The New FPDA Executive Director

Hello, My Name Is Barb

I have had the good fortune to join the FPDA as your new Executive Director as of October. So, I am happy to share a little about myself in this column.

Let me first share my professional background:

I bring more than 20 years of association executive experience managing numerous international and national membership associations. My teams and I have developed creative social media marketing campaigns, delivered diverse educational programs, and produced successful conventions and trade shows. I have served as a volunteer leader, just as your FPDA Board, with the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), and Board Source. I have served as executive director of SMRP (Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals and Foundation); BMES (Biomedical Engineering Society and Foundation); and Women in Defense, National Security (WID).

Joe Thompson, FPDA’s General Manager made this statement for a press release: “Barbara is an award-winning and highly-regarded Association Executive who brings a fresh perspective to supporting the strategic growth of her associations. Passionate about serving the membership mission, she is adept at aligning resources with key priorities and anticipating organizational and member needs. I know that she will apply her talents toward FPDA’s strategic objectives and vitality in partnership with their Board and leadership team.”
