Is Your Company Participating in the FPDA Monthly Industry Economics Report?

IF NOT, you may have missed that the November survey had 45 participants, comprised of 33 distributors and 12 manufacturers.  Or, that:

FPDA Index – The October FPDA Index produced a reading of 62.6, up slightly from September’s reading of 62.2. This indicates the fluid power industry expanded at a faster pace compared to September. The broader ISM index showed a lower reading of 50.8 in October, down from the September reading of 51.6.

October Shows Modestly Slower Sales Growth Against Tougher Comparison – Sales growth among members rose 17% in October, modestly slower than the 22% growth in September. A more difficult year-ago comparison appears to be at play as the 500bps slower growth is similar to the 600bps tougher comp.

2011 / 2012 Outlooks Unchanged – Members continue to forecast full year growth of 24% and 10% on average for 2011 and 2012, respectively. YTD, overall sales growth has averaged 25% which implies sales are expected to grow at a robust 18% pace over the final two months of the year.
